Role Overview
The Professional Hair Braider is responsible for providing high‑quality braiding and protective styling services while maintaining a clean, welcoming, and professional salon environment. This role requires strong technical skill, excellent customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced beauty setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional braiding services including:
- Knotless braids
- Box braids
- Stitch braids
- Cornrows
- Twists (Senegalese, passion, Marley)
- Feed‑in braids
- Other protective styles
- Deliver consistent, neat, long‑lasting results
- Consult with clients to understand desired style, length, and expectations
- Maintain a clean, sanitized workstation before and after each client
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled appointments
- Follow salon policies, professionalism standards, and customer‑care guidelines
- Recommend products and aftercare instructions to clients
- Support the salon team when needed and contribute to a positive environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional braider
- Ability to braid neatly, quickly, and comfortably for clients
- Strong knowledge of hair types, protective styles, and maintenance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Must maintain good hygiene and sanitation practices
- Portfolio or photos of previous work (Instagram acceptable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a salon environment
- Knowledge of wig installs or extensions (optional but a plus)
- Ability to work with children and adults
- Familiarity with booking systems and client scheduling
Work Schedule
- Full‑time or part‑time
